TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Technical Project Manager at Museums Victoria.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the Systems and Projects and other Exhibitions and Experiences teams to develop and maintain exhibition experiences for Museums Victoria audiences, contributing to the development of technical specification briefs.
  • Oversee staff and contractors (both internal and external) for various Exhibitions and Experiences projects ensuring contract specifications and deliverables are met for exhibition and presentation spaces.
  • Offer specialist technical advice and recommendations to ensure technology aligns with Museums Victoria strategies and Technical Services departmental standards.
  • Create design briefs and implement processes, coordinating digital design development activities for multiple projects.
  • In consultation with the Technical Services leadership team, manage team performance, allocate project tasks, and work closely with internal stakeholders to organise elements like infrastructure specification, installation, asset tracking and debriefs.
  • Advise external contractors on audio-visual and other technical specifications needed to integrate with existing museum gallery control and content delivery systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OHS and risk management policies and procedures, proactively addressing ay issues that arise.
  • Keep abreast of developments in audio visual presentation systems, establish and maintain peer networks within the industry, and develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
