Description
We are seeking a Technical Solutions Specialist to support our customer at Kirtland AFB, NM. As the Technical Solutions Specialist for Prototype Ground Section, will support a task order manager in the daily execution of various activities. You may be given a task (e.g., we just got this tasker from the customer, please work it and let me know when complete) and work it with minimal direction or oversight. You must be able to work independently and figure things out mostly on your own and be able to provide status updates to the task order manager. You should be able to identify gaps or issues, work with the appropriate subject matter experts to diagnose and develop a recommended solution, and then be able to present or "sell" that solution to the customer. You should have an understanding of information technology, in particular networking, and you’ll be more successful with a basic understanding of satellite communications. Your role is crucial in maintaining the operation of space systems, and your innovative ideas and problem-solving skills will be highly valued.    Primary Activities * Collaborate with project engineering lead, systems engineers and other technical staff to identify, assess, and present options for meeting functional and technical requirements of satellite ground systems, which may include hardware and/or software * Work with cross functional teams (networking, systems admins, cyber, hardware, etc.) to develop, integrate, maintain, sustain, and retire legacy satellite ground systems supporting Space Systems Command  * Create Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Change Control Board (CCB) presentations to document requirements, present the technical solution, propose the implementation strategy, and propose the test strategy * Maintain cognizance over technical activities and schedule milestones within program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) * Participate in technical interchange meetings and reviews * Create and maintain system documents such as the Interface Control Document, System Interface Document, network topologies, and data flow diagrams * Work with cyberspace engineers to develop, integrate, and maintain a secure network * Support tasks to design, analyze, install, manage, and configure advanced LAN and network systems, supporting mission essential systems * Support other activities as needed and as requested SAIC® [http://www.saic.com/] is a premier Fortune 500® mission integrator focused on advancing the power of technology and innovation to serve and protect our world.
