TECHNICAL PROJECT OFFICER | 8296 | FIXED TERM CONTRACT UNTIL 31 JULY 2026 | 37 HOURS PER WEEK | £38,626 TO £40,476 PER ANNUM (SCALE J) | NORWICH / HYBRID

To cover the maternity leave of the current post holder, we are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and flexible individual to help us continue to deliver a range of infrastructure projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team of project resources focused on the delivery of Infrastructure projects within the wider Digital Services Technical Programme & Transition Team.
The successful candidate will aid the Technical Project Lead to deliver the ‘Future Server Programme’, by supporting several large and important server migration and decommissioning projects. The current focus for the programme is planning the migration from and decommission of legacy SQL and Windows server platforms.
The role will involve engaging with Norfolk County Council (NCC) departments and Digital Services technical teams to plan and support the migration of NCC services to more modern platforms or cloud hosted infrastructure.
There may also be opportunities to lead on the management of smaller infrastructure projects.

Key skills, experience, and behaviours we are looking for include:

  • Motivated to work independently and as part of a busy team
  • The ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of customers from different services and Digital Services teams.
  • Clear, concise, and effective communication style
  • Experience of producing and maintaining project related documentation
  • Well organised, motivated, proactive approach and takes responsibility for project deliverables
  • Professional and business-like
  • Experience of delivering within an ICT project environment, ideally including ICT infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and SQL Server platforms would be beneficial but not essential

We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity required for hybrid working and to work collaboratively at NCC offices on occasions where a face-to-face approach adds value.
