Education:

  • Community College Diploma; Undergraduate Degree in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical sciences, or a related field is preferred

Experience:

  • 1 year of work experience supporting research in a related technical field, ideally human subjects research with MRI or behavioral testing

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Technical/Research Support 1 to join a multidisciplinary research team investigating brain development and clinical outcomes using MRI and related behavioral assessments. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in dynamic, team-based environments and are interested in neuroscience, psychology, or medical imaging research. This role is part of a large, collaborative research team conducting cutting-edge neuroimaging research in clinical populations. The position offers opportunities for skill development in MRI, clinical research methods, and cognitive neuroscience, with potential for growth within the research program. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in hospital or clinical settings with patients and/or children. Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Coordinating and assisting in the recruitment of research participants, including contacting eligible patients, obtaining consent, and scheduling study visits
  • Supporting MRI data acquisition in pediatric and/or adult participants, including preparing participants for scanning and assisting with scan procedures
  • Administering and scoring standardized cognitive and behavioral assessments
  • Assisting in maintaining ethical and regulatory documentation, including REB/IRB protocols, consent forms, and data sharing agreements
  • Collaborating with a large team of investigators, clinicians, research assistants and trainees to support data collection and quality control
  • Contributing to data entry, organization, and preliminary analysis using secure research databases
  • Participating in regular team meetings and provide updates on recruitment progress and data collection
  • Maintaining detailed documentation of all procedures and ensure adherence to research protocols
