The Research Technician will work closely with the Cardiology and Critical Care Research Program (C3RP) laboratory manager and the LHSC clinical research team. The key responsibility will be to oversee sample transport, processing, labelling, storage, cataloguing and maintenance of the Early Severe illness TrAnslational BioLogy Informatics in Humans (ESTABLISH) biorepository. This will include the separation of whole blood into its constituents (plasma, buffy coat, peripheral blood mononuclear cells) and meticulous oversight of the biological repository in the C3RP laboratory at the Robarts Research Institute. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with undergraduate and graduate student training, maintaining a safe work environment, participating in monthly research meetings and weekly lab meetings, and summarizing data. The successful candidate will be exposed to cutting-edge research methods and have opportunities to participate in additional research projects within the lab.
