JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Sales Engineer for Generators to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for both the sales and technical service of diesel generators, ensuring that our customers receive top-quality products and after-sales support. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, customer-facing sales experience, and a strong understanding of diesel engine systems.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent technical certifications.
  • Certification in diesel engine servicing or related qualifications is highly preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in sales, service, or technical support for diesel generators and associated equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical components, and generator control panels.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and software.

SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in sales and customer relations, ideally in a technical or industrial environment.
  • Strong ability to identify and understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other software tools for reporting and service management.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software for generating technical drawings and schematics is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to service issues.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities

SALES RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, including industrial, commercial, and residential clients, to promote diesel generator products and services.
  • Generate new business opportunities and drive sales for diesel generators and related equipment.
  • Conduct site surveys, provide technical consultations, and recommend the appropriate diesel generator solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals to potential clients.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to close sales deals.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs set by the company.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and strategies to enhance product awareness and sales growth.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues with diesel generators and associated systems.
  • Provide technical support for customers during breakdowns or critical issues.
  • Advise customers on generator operation, safety, and preventative maintenance procedures.
