Position: Technical Sales Manager Department: Sales & Marketing Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt Openings: 2 Salary: $85,000 base + bonus & commission opportunities Position Summary We are seeking experienced Technical Sales Managers to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by developing strong distributor, OEM, and end-user relationships across assigned territories. This position requires approximately 50% travel and 50% home office time to balance field activity with territory planning, reporting, and strategy. Territories Available South Central Region – Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Wyoming Preferred candidate location: Kansas, Missouri, or Texas Western Region – Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah Preferred candidate location: Oregon or Northern California, near an airport \n Key Responsibilities Build and maintain relationships with distributors, OEMs, and major end users. Conduct sales visits and promote products through training, presentations, and ongoing engagement. Map and strengthen assigned territories, identifying opportunities to expand market presence. Organize and participate in approximately 24 distributor calls per month. Provide technical presentations and product information to support customer needs. Collaborate with internal sales, customer service, and engineering teams for quotations and support. Deliver accurate monthly forecasts and submit timely visit/activity reports. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and new technologies. Promote long-term, stable relationships by serving as a reliable partner for distributors. Must-Have Skills & Attributes Proven track record in technical or industrial sales (minimum 3+ years). Strong relationship-building, training, and presentation skills. Organized, methodical, and diligent in managing multiple priorities. Comfortable with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently without micromanagement. Stable, reliable, and passionate about developing long-term business growth. Ideal Candidate Profile: This role is well-suited for professionals who are mature, relationship-driven, and enjoy a low-stress, stable environment. Success typically comes from those who are organized, methodical, and diligent, with the ability to establish trust and deliver consistent results. Experience & Education Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. Prior experience in industrial, engineering, or manufacturing sales strongly preferred. Knowledge of distributor networks is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $85,000 Performance Bonus: 10% for achieving quality targets ($8,500) Commission: 2% of all sales above budget (e.g., $200K above budget = $20K additional) In the past 3 years, this bonus/commission structure has been consistently achieved by the sales team.
