JOB DESCRIPTION

The Team Lead – Technical Sales Support is responsible for leading a critical technical team that serves as the technical support of SuperTrak’s global sales organization. This role blends administrative oversight, cross-functional coordination, and deep technical engagement to enable the commercialization of ATS Product’s.
This position leads a team of technical Sales Support Professionals ensuring the team delivers accurate, technically sound proposals, simulations, and support for global sales opportunities. This role requires strong leadership, technical depth, and cross-functional communication skills.
The Team Lead is also responsible for coordinating efforts with the internal ATS channel, ensuring alignment across sales and product functions. Additionally, this role supports forecast accuracy and pipeline planning specifically for this channel.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in automation, technical sales support, or machine building.
  • Post-secondary technical diploma or degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics).
  • Proven leadership skills with direct team management responsibilities.
  • Strong technical understanding of motion systems, mechatronics, and automation architecture.
  • High fluency in proposal processes, pre-sales workflows, and customer-facing technical support.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to travel (~15–25%) to customer sites or tradeshows.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Hands-on knowledge of SuperTrak or similar conveyance platforms (e.g., Beckhoff XTS, Rockwell iTRAK).
  • Experience with customer concept evaluation and simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and technical quoting workflows.

Responsibilities
  1. Leadership & Administration
  • Directly manage and develop a team of technical sales support specialists.
  • Allocate team resources, assign priorities, and monitor workload across customer projects.
  • Act as the department coordinator across stakeholders: sales, product development, engineering, manufacturing, and service.
  • Maintain and optimize existing internal standards for quoting, simulations, documentation, and proposal approvals—ensuring consistency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Independently manage the performance of the direct team, Activlley coaching, attending 1:1’s, conducting performance reviews and utilizing tools like Performance Improvement Plans and Progressive Discipline to address poor performance
  1. Proposal Development & Technical Calculations
  • Lead the preparation of technical sales documentation: proposals, configurations, sizing, and concept layouts.
  • Work with internal product stakeholders (including product management, engineering, and R&D) to validate feasibility for complex or customized requests.
  1. SuperTrak Product Expertise
  • Act as the technical authority on SuperTrak systems and configurations.
  • Coach team members and sales reps on key product principles: sizing, motion planning, payloads, and limitations.
  1. Simulation & Concept Development
  • Guide and review simulation models for new machine concepts.
  • Coordinate internal tools and data used for concept validation and throughput calculation.
  1. Sales Support & Cross-Functional Liaison
  • Represent the technical sales support function in cross-departmental alignment meetings.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the interface between Sales, Product, and Engineering functions.
