PUTTING YOUR SKILLS TO USE

Using your diverse range of skills within the Technical Security Team, you will:

  • Configure and test equipment before deployment.
  • Assist in completing documentation, such as technical reports and installation guides.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with stakeholders to understand new and emerging threats.
  • Participate in project planning and management activities.
  • Assist in researching and developing new technical security systems and solutions.
  • Assist in installing, commissioning, and testing security systems, such as CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Assist in ensuring that all installations meet the required technical and security standards.
  • Provide remote technical support for security systems.
  • Assist in conducting maintenance visits to ensure that security systems are functioning correctly.
  • Participate in training courses and workshops to develop technical skills and knowledge.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A DYNAMIC ROLE WHICH WILL OFFER YOU THE CHANCE TO CONTRIBUTE TO NATIONAL SECURITY AND WORK ON UNIQUE TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS?

As a Technical Security Engineer, you will work to deliver critical security solutions.
You will bring your knowledge of security systems and electrical system installation to work collaboratively and innovatively on global hardware upgrade programmes, both developing new technical solutions and maintaining existing systems.
You will be involved in all aspects of installations, you will ensure installations meet all requirements and meet with stakeholders to discuss and understand new threats, assisting with the research into new systems. You will be encouraged to innovate, be that individually or as a team, and new approaches and ideas are always welcomed.
You will join a dynamic and flexible deployment structure and will enjoy unique and varied work such as assisting with the installation and commissioning of new security systems, providing remote technical support or participating in project planning. You will constantly be exposed to new and exciting challenges.
This role involves travel, and you can expect to be away for upwards of 20 weeks of the year, sometimes at short notice.
Working within a high-performing and supportive team, you will benefit from opportunities to work towards professional certifications and diplomas, as well as regular support from a mentor in your day-to-day work, all whist having a direct impact on national security.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE ROLE

This role requires frequent standing, walking and climbing and includes working at heights and may involve working in cramped or confined spaces. You will also be working in a variety of environmental conditions.

You must be able to:

  • Lift and carry equipment and tools safely.
  • Be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including standing, kneeling and crawling.
  • Be able to use manual dexterity to perform tasks such as wiring and connecting equipment.

To apply for this role, you will already have:

  • Previous experience of security systems (IDS/CCTV/AACS) installation OR electrical system installation.
  • Basic technical knowledge of security systems, including CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics and a fundamental understanding of IP networking.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
