This Position reports to:
Service Manager
ABB is searching for a Technical Service Consultant to join and support the Electrification Services Division of the business, focusing largely on our Western Territory. You will provide support and technical advice to colleagues, ensure that Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and integrity requirements are integrated and are up to date in their respective business process(es) and applications, and make sure that engineering activities comply with required contractual clauses.
The work model for the role is remote for candidates located in the Western US with the ability to travel an estimated 25%. Candidates could expect less travel if already based near Mesa, AZ (#LI-Remote).

Responsibilities

YOU WILL BE MAINLY ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Proposing technical solutions and working on consulting assignments, using established standards, methods, and technologies, to develop solutions and resolve issues.
  • Proposing engineering solutions to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Support Project Managers by: providing engineering expertise and technical guidance; defining parts; assisting in the creation and distribution of project schedules; attending project kick off meetings to offer technical guidance.
  • Ensuring quality and timely implementation within targeted cost.
  • Conducting risk and opportunity assessments for consulting assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (strongly preferred) or 10 years relevant experience.
  • 5 years of experience working around project engineering as PM, planner, engineer, or technical support.
  • Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, data management, quality management, process improvement and optimalisation and the utilities, power generation, wind power, or process automation markets.
  • Knowledge of SAP, MS Suite, AutoCAD.
  • Ability to travel an estimated 25% around Western and Central United States.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
