ABOUT US

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Workshop Manager to partner with researchers and students working on unique projects and novel solutions. You will lead a dynamic and collaborative team across the Technical Support Services (TSS) Workshops portfolio. This team is responsible for delivering excellent client-focused support of teaching and research activities across multiple schools and faculties at the University of Sydney. This is a key leadership role, where you will use your workshop experience to make meaningful service improvement to the student experience and success of research project, in partnership with Faculty and School colleagues.

Responsibilities

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

  • provide effective leadership, management, delegation, coordination and guidance
  • lead the implementation of service improvements, service excellence and operational efficiencies within the TSS Workshops teams
  • act as a cohesive link between the work area, other TSS teams, researchers and students, core research facilities, the broader University and external clients
  • plan and manage the effective utilisation of resources across the designated technical areas of responsibility
  • champion best practice workplace health & safety, compliance, and risk management
  • oversee risk management and emergency response.
