Newlands Closure Project is looking for a motivated Technical Services Superintendent to join our Technical Services Team. Operating as an Open Cut Mine until February 2023, we have now finished coal production and are progressing ahead to new and exciting times as we rehabilitate and close the forty-year-old mine. We strive to be industry leaders as we transition to be Queensland’s largest rehabilitation project to date.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Technical Services Superintendent will be responsible for the development and support of technical services and the technical service team in order to provide strategies, planning, and rehabilitation expertise.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Delivery of bulk earthworks plans and short-term civil plans
Management of external service providers
Mentoring, and motivating our technical services department to develop, implement and monitor technical initiatives for bulk earthworks, civil activities, tailings capping and other closure activities.
Providing consistent support to all departments onsite and coordinating the information to meet/exceed our annual plans.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE INCLUDE:
Experience in a similar role, preferably within mining, earthworks, project management or associated industries
Dozer Push, Truck and Shovel experience is preferrable
Tertiary qualifications in mining/civil engineering, project management and/or relevant knowledge and experience
Experience in quality assurance and quality control systems
High level design experience and execution of rehabilitation requirements
