As a field based Technical Services Veterinarian, you’ll be a vital link between our product portfolio, sales team and the veterinary community. You’ll empower our sales teams and build strong, trusted relationships with veterinarians and key opinion leaders across your region. This role combines your veterinary expertise with strategic communication and collaboration to enhance Virbac’s reputation and drive sales.
What You’ll Do
1. Empower the Sales Team with Expertise

You’ll be a go-to technical expert for our field sales team.

  • Serve as a primary resource for technical product information during sales calls and customer interactions.
  • Provide veterinary technical coaching for territory sales managers in order to continuously increase the ability of the sales team to educate veterinary teams on our products and how to best use them.
  • Work in partnership with Regional Sales Leadership to strategize, plan and implement customer facing regional activities to drive sales performance.
  • Partner with sales training and marketing departments to create and deliver engaging, impactful technical training for the sales team.
  1. Build and Nurture Relationships with General Practitioners

You’ll focus on becoming a trusted resource for general practice veterinarians.

  • Work with our sales team to build strong professional relationships with key hospitals and veterinarians.
  • Respond to technical inquiries, provide case consultations and expert recommendations on product use.
  • Develop and facilitate engaging educational seminars.
  1. Engage with Key Opinion Leaders and Specialists

You will strengthen our relationships and product advocacy with influential veterinarians and industry leaders.

  • Identify, develop and grow key specialists and opinion leader advocates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute targeted engagement strategies with Specialists, Universities and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
  1. Serve Cross functionally as a Veterinary Technical Expert

You will collaborate with various departments as a veterinary technical expert.

  • Proactively monitor and share veterinary medical advancements, industry trends and current news/events.
  • Provide valuable feedback to help shape product research & development, marketing and sales strategies.
  1. Ensure Product Safety and Regulatory Compliance

You will play a crucial role in maintaining Virbac’s high standards for product safety and Pharmacovigilance.

  • Serve as a liaison between veterinary hospitals and the Product Safety & Consulting and Pharmacovigilance teams to uphold our satisfaction guarantee, report potential product issues, adverse events, or lack of efficacy in compliance with regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Bring

  • A DVM/VMD with a valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience in a companion animal general practice desired.
  • Prior experience in a field technical services role is a plus.
  • Fluency in English. Spanish and/or French skills are beneficial.
  • Competency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication/presentation skills, with a focus on building relationships and fostering dialogue.
  • The ability to work independently and manage a high workload with a flexible, results-oriented approach.
  • A “warm and caring” attitude that enables you to build trust and rapport with a diverse range of people.
  • A knack for problem-solving and collaboration across different teams and functions.
