Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Redbirds Rugby - Head Coach, the Technical Specialist- Assistant Coach - Redbirds Rugby will be expected to assist the head coach in the implementation of performance and development initiatives that will help ensure the success of the rugby student-athletes and the team. May be expected to assist with various administrative tasks as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and distribute on-field team equipment.
  • Ensure preparation of game and practice equipment for the rugby team.
  • Record activities during a game and keeping track of statistics
  • Ensure analysis of data and identifies trends of game/team/athlete activity/competency during game and post-game and prepares reports to head coach.
  • Support coaching staff in the implementation of practice and game plans

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Knowledge or previous practical experience in the sport of rugby is a strong asset
  • CPR and First Aid certification is desirable
  • Prior coaching experience at an elite/competitive level is an asset
  • Team player, strong organizational skills is highly desirable

Selected candidates are expected to successfully pass their criminal background check.
