Description

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Ensure ESMS compliance with relevant statutory regulations and current ‘best practice’
  • Actively engage with internal customers on electrical safety culture to achieve zero harm
  • Lead the Electrical Safety Working Group and encourage knowledge sharing
  • Support engagement with external regulatory bodies and network service providers
  • Develop programs to build electrical safety capability to EDL employees and contractors
  • Act as a delegate to the Electrical Safety Authority
  • Facilitate and provide subject matter expertise in risk management and event investigations
  • Provide advice and support to electrical design, installations, operations, and maintenance
  • Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations
  • Lead event investigations and facilitate ICAM & Root Cause Analysis for notifiable events
  • Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies.
  • In addition to the duties set out above, the Optimisation Delivery Manager may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company

Person Specification:

  • Ability to lead cross-functional safety initiatives and working groups
  • Comfortable engaging with all levels of the organisation including senior leaders, site operators, regulators, and external stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to translate technical safety concepts into practical actions.
  • Capable of delivering impactful training and safety awareness programs.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and stakeholder management
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex safety risks and develop effective controls.
  • Proactive in identifying emerging safety issues and implementing preventative strategies
  • Interest in and ability to continue personal leadership and technical growth

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant engineering-based qualification (trade, diploma, degree considered)
  • Experience in the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of safety management systems
  • Understanding of electric safety legislation, standards and codes of practice across Australia, North America and the United Kingdom
  • Strong knowledge of safety best practise in the generation industry or like industry
  • Expertise in leading incident investigations and audit processes
