As a Technical Specialist, Facilities, you’ll be responsible for moderately complex, specialized facility maintenance and repair services in one or more of the technical and skill trades of preventive/predictive maintenance, structural, electrical, plumbing heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) or cabling. You’ll also assist others in the resolution of complex problems and issues and provide technical training for other members of the team.
TYPICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Education: Associate of science degree, certificate from technical school or successful completion of Department of Labor-approved training program or equivalent.
License/Certification/Designation: Associates must acquire the required federal and/or state licenses and registrations within the time designated by the business unit. Additional licenses and registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails or is unable to obtain required licenses and registrations within the designated time period, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position and employment may end.
Licenses, certifications and designations required or preferred include the following:
Experience: Typically, five or more years of proven related work experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of facility maintenance troubleshooting; understanding of all building, electrical, fire, OSHA, EPA and other federal, state and local codes and regulations; planning, installation, maintenance, testing, repair and operation of building, electrical, HVAC and life safety systems; and able to develop and implement facility maintenance programs and procedures. Verbal and written communications, problem-solving and project management concepts and practices.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
