Key Responsibilities: The Technical Specialist –GEDSI, will ensure adherence to overall technical and programmatic quality in implementing the project. S/he will ensure compliance with the donor and WV rules and regulations and ensure the timely submission of overall deliverables, including work plan, performance monitoring plan and other reports as required. The Technical Specialist – GEDSI, is responsible for providing technical advice to the project team for maximizing impact on women and other vulnerable/marginalized groups through project interventions to ensure their inclusion, participation and empowerment. Major Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team to ensure that the overall project takes a GEDSI transformative approach Lead the GEDSI Assessment of two project locations and formulate and lead the implementation of GEDSI Action Plan for the Project Ensure timely completion of proposed GEDSI related research and study component of the project and derive recommendations/approaches/strategies for effective interventions/implementation of activities Facilitate and ensure quality delivery of GEDSI trainings, other skills development initiatives targeting community facilitators Build relationships with local women-led/women focused community level groups/structures as well as other mainstream community structures Create and maintain the standard documentation as per the Grant requirements Ensure that the project coordinators/team members/community facilitators are supported to conduct lessons learnt events at community level Timely submission of monthly/quarterly progress reports including facilitating the project coordinators to provide necessary evidence-based information for mid– year and Annual reports Required qualifications, experience & competencies At least 4 years of experience in the development sector with sound subject knowledge, programmatic and field experiences in Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Bachelor’s degree/post graduate diploma in Gender Studies/ Human Rights/Development Studies or Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities and Social Sciences with relevant subject knowledge and field experience Prior experience in leading/implementing projects of similar nature and ability to think, plan and communicate strategically Experience in effective delivery of GEDSI related project activities at community level Good knowledge in English and Sinhala (knowledge in Tamil is preferred).
