Job Description Job Summary The Technical Specialist provides technical expertise in chemical testing and regulatory requirements for consumer products to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. This role supports laboratory operations by interpreting standards, resolving technical issues, and advising internal teams and clients on compliance matters. Key Responsibilities Provide technical guidance on consumer products safety and performance standards, and regulations (e.g. CPSIA, Canada SOR, ASTM, California Prop 65, TSCA, FDA, PFAS, REACH). Support development, revision, and optimization of test protocols/plans. Participate in different standard development organization’s committee meetings (e.g., ASTM) Stay current with changes to regulations and standards affecting consumer products. Act as a technical point of contact for sales, account managers and clients regarding test and regulatory requirements. Provide technical training to laboratory staff, internal stakeholders and clients. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline At least 3 years of experience in a testing laboratory, certification body, or consumer product compliance role Strong knowledge of consumer product regulations and, safety and performance standards Good knowledge and demonstrated application of best practices in laboratory and personnel management.
