Description Summary: The Technical Specialist Intern is primarily responsible for supporting products and company initiatives that are directly related to the automation department. This individual works closely with our Automation Specialists, Inside Sales, and Sales Support Team to develop and deliver customer solutions with our products. The Technical Specialist Intern will work closely with an assigned mentor and have the opportunity to shadow roles throughout the company, participate in community impact initiatives, and visit different branch locations. This individual expresses behavior that supports our company culture (5 P’s) and our purpose to create lasting value to those we serve. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Electrical Distribution Orientation: Learn the roles of various departments in the organization and understand relationships with key partners and vendors. Job Shadowing: Participate in job shadowing across departments with a focus on Automation. Orientation to Automation Support and Design Engineering Teams: Support and learn from our Automation Support and Desing Engineering Teams. Customer Engagement: Join Account Managers and Specialists on customer site visits to learn how we engage and support our customers. Technical Development: Build technical acumen in an assigned domain (determined at the start of the internship). Event Participation: Attend Commercial events and assist with technical sessions, labs, or trade shows as needed. Training Support: Help create training materials for internal employees and external customers. Project Assistance: Perform assigned tasks as directed. Requirements Critical Success Factors: Strong internal and external customer service Effective written and verbal communication Organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities Willingness to learn, grow, and adapt to change Ability to give and receive constructive feedback Ability to work collaboratively and independently Job Requirements/Specifications: High School Graduate Pursuing a degree in a technical field including but not limited to: Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Computer Science, or Information Technology. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Work Environment: The Technical Specialist will be working in a collaborative environment, spending your time working with your hands and fingers, talking, hearing, and working closely with others and customers.
