  • Strong technical knowledge of British Standard tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete
  • Proven experience in reviewing test results and producing certified test reports
  • Supervisory or senior technician experience with an emphasis on technical quality
  • Highly organised and proactive, with a strong attention to detail and quality assurance
  • Effective communicator, capable of guiding and developing technical staff

EXPERIENCE:

ABOUT THE ROLE

White Rose Laboratory Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Technical Supervisor to oversee technical quality and assurance at our Castleford laboratory. This is a key leadership role focused on reviewing laboratory results, issuing accredited test certificates, and supporting overall technical compliance in line with ISO 17025 and British Standards.
In addition to producing and signing off accredited test reports, the Technical Supervisor will support operational delivery, staff development, and laboratory efficiency. You will work closely with the management team and technicians to ensure technical integrity across all testing operations in soils, aggregates, and concrete.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and verify laboratory test results in accordance with ISO 17025 and British Standards
  • Produce and authorise accredited test certificates and reports for clients
  • Supervise and support a team of technicians, ensuring testing meets quality and turnaround expectations
  • Assist in daily lab scheduling and workload planning to meet project deadlines
  • Maintain and improve the laboratory’s technical systems and UKAS accreditation compliance
  • Provide mentoring, technical guidance, and training to technicians and junior staff
  • Support hands-on testing where required, particularly in troubleshooting or non-routine test scenarios
  • Drive continuous improvement in test procedures, quality assurance, and laboratory housekeeping
  • Ensure accurate completion of test records, data sheets, and supporting documentation
  • Liaise with site teams, clients, and the management team to ensure timely and accurate test delivery
