JOB DESCRIPTION

BAE Systems Cyber Security Products (CSP) group is looking for a motivated junior IT professional to join our support engineering team in Reston, Virginia. Our support engineering team provides support to CSP sales managers and customers in requirements capture, architecture recommendations, CDS implementation, training, and post-sales support. At CSP you will learn how to interpret the National Cross Domain Strategy & Management Office (NCDSMO) Raise-the-Bar (RTB) requirements for CDS development and deployment. CSP support engineers interact not only with government leadership at NCDSMO, but also with government customers (military and civilian), defense contractors, other CDS firms, and the internal developers of our products both domestically and abroad. Support engineers provide customer support both from the home office and at the customer sites. This position does require travel to both US and international locations.

In this job, you will:

  • Provide pre- and post-sales support of BAE SYSTEMS CDS products.
  • Perform professional technical work that requires in-depth knowledge and diversified application of NCDSMO RTB requirements.
  • Generate technical documentation (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) of proposed and as-built CDS implementations.
  • Provide on-site as well as remote assistance to CSP customers on the implementation, management, and operation of BAE SYSTEMS CDS products.
  • Work closely with the sales managers, support engineering, testing, and development teams.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to discern technical security requirements delivered from non-technical and/or non-security focused professionals.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or similar.
  • 4 years IT support in Linux/UNIX environments (technical certifications can be substituted for degree requirement)
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
