Description The Technical Support Assistant position is an entry-level role focused on providing basic technical assistance, ticket management, and day-to-day support for the organization’s technology systems. This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills, detail-oriented, and eager to grow their technical skillset with a strong foundation of troubleshooting and critical thinking. Basic Technical Support Provide first-level support for common technical issues such as login problems, basic application errors, printer issues, and workstation setup Assist users with simple troubleshooting steps following established procedures and documentation Support conference rooms, AV equipment, and event technology setups as needed Escalate issues outside of scope to senior IT staff or related vendor support Ticket Management & Documentation Receive, log, and manage support requests using the IT ticketing system Ensure tickets are properly documented, updated, and closed in a timely manner Follow up with users to confirm issue resolution Assist with maintaining and updating internal IT documentation and how-to guides Hardware & Equipment Support Help set up and deploy computers, monitors, phones, and peripherals Assist with basic maintenance such as cable management, equipment labeling, inventory, and device swaps Perform basic hardware troubleshooting and assist with tracking equipment lifecycle, including inventory updates and identifying when equipment needs repair or replacement User Support & Communication Provide friendly, professional, and patient support to staff with varying technical skill levels Clearly communicate status updates and next steps to users Act as a reliable point of contact for routine IT requests Learning & Development Learn company systems, applications, and support processes over time Collaborate with senior IT staff and assist with basic IT projects as assigned Follow IT policies, procedures, and security best practices Requirements Required Qualifications Strong customer service and communication skills Comfort working with equipment related to networking and AV Basic computer skills (Windows, email, web browsers, common applications) Willingness and ability to learn new systems and technologies Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Preferred (But Not Required) Qualifications Prior experience working in events, banquets, or hospitality environments Experience with troubleshooting and configuring hardware and software Familiarity with ticketing systems or task tracking tools Interest in pursuing a career in IT or technical support Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs.) On-site work required to support users, events, and equipment Occasional evenings or weekends to support events or business need
