Description This entry-level Technical Support Engineer role is designed for someone ready to begin their career supporting Passive Optical Networks (PON) and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM). Kick-start your career supporting these technologies while helping customers and partners troubleshoot network issues, assist with deployments and upgrades, analyze logs and performance metrics, and contribute to lab validation work. You’ll also document solutions, support knowledge-sharing and participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support to customers and partners, ensuring timely and clear issue resolution. Troubleshoot PON and DWDM optical network issues, including alarms and performance concerns. Support network deployments, upgrades, and lab validation activities. Analyze KPIs, logs, and system behavior to identify root causes. Document solutions and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing. Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation as part of the global support team. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field Understanding of GPON/XGS-PON fundamentals Basic knowledge of optical networking and DWDM concepts Strong foundation in networking fundamentals, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs Familiarity with OTDR, power meters and Wireshark Strong Analytical mindset and solid communication skills Nice to Have Introductory experience with automation or network management. Basic Python or Bash scripting skills. Familiarity with NETCONF/YANG or APIs
