POSITION SUMMARY

Sony Corporation of America is seeking a passionate Technical Support Engineer to join our team in Culver City, CA. In this role, you will support our cutting-edge 3D content creation technology in virtual production, driving innovative projects through seamless communication with both internal and external partners.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Practical experience in virtual production or related technologies.
  • Proficiency in game engines such as Unreal Engine.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (C++, Python, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships, along with effective written, oral, and listening communication skills, and a proactive approach to sharing information with peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Availability for case-by-case evening work and participation in recurring evening conference calls/meetings with internal and external partners.
  • Experience with necessary office tools.
  • Ability to travel as required

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $100,000 to $110,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

Responsibilities
  • Provide effective technical support for 3D content creation to key content development stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate how to create 3D content and explain proper setup and workflow at both internal and external studios, offering consultation and support for tools and equipment.
  • Collect and organize feedback on technical issues, requirements, and improvement points from engineers, producers, and creators, relaying this information back to Sony and partners for tool and workflow enhancement.
  • Conduct test shoots for virtual production to evaluate and refine workflows and techniques.
  • Offer technical support to the production team and propose technical approaches for problem-solving.
