Salary range: Grade 6 £35,520 - £36,585 p.a. plus fantastic benefits Contract: Permanent Hours of work: Full time and Part time considered  Location: Croydon About the Role Croydon Council's Development Management Service is responsible for the full range of planning applications and consents, appeals, and enforcement investigations.  We are seeking Technical Support Officers to join the team and support the planning service as we enhance our digital capabilities to better serve Croydon residents and businesses. As a Technical Support Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that casework within the service, including planning applications, appeals, and enforcement complaints, are processed efficiently. You will also need to ensure that records are maintained accurately, and assist team members to provide a high performing, customer-focussed service. The Council’s flexible working policy requires office presence 2 days a week for full-time roles. We are willing to consider full time, part-time and flexible working. Key Responsibilities * Support the validation and processing of planning applications using our specialist IT system: IDOX Uniform * Maintain accurate customer records and archive systems in accordance with departmental procedures * Assist with technical queries from colleagues and customers  * Provide support for key meetings, hearings and events, including appeal hearings * Ensure that appeal documents, CIL notices, decision notices, and enforcement notices are processed in a timely manner About You The ideal candidate will have: * Experience working in an office environment with case management IT systems * Strong general IT skills including proficiency in Windows, word-processing and email * The ability to read and scale drawings * Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills * Strong written and verbal communication abilities * A methodical approach with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively * Customer service focus with a helpful and confident manner * The ability to work well under pressure while maintaining accuracy Knowledge of planning legislation, local government operations, and experience with planning-related systems (IDOX Uniform) would be advantageous.
