ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Relevant qualification e.g. HND / higher level apprenticeship or equivalent in Business, Science and/or Engineering related discipline.
• Previous experience of managing and developing a team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills - Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively both to technical and non-technical audience.
• Experience in coordinating projects.
• Extensive experience of and excellent technical report writing skills.
• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload.
• Good IT literacy and competency in utilising SharePoint and MS Office – word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook, etc.

The salary for this role is £39,610 . Onsite working is expected for 3 days a week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.

This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.

THE ROLE

The Tritium Fuel Cycle (TFC) division is leading the delivery of tritium life cycle solutions for sustainable fusion energy, aiming to maximise the scientific and economic benefits as a result. In addition to delivering high-impact research and development programmes, the division is also responsible for designing, delivering, and operating cutting-edge tritium life cycle facilities. Furthermore, the division seeks to develop productive collaborations and grow a community of experts through the sharing and assimilating of knowledge.
The Tritium Fuel Cycle Project Delivery Group provide technical leadership on the best practise for delivering and monitoring projects within the Tritium Fuel Cycle and other programmes. These projects will be managed and delivered to a predefined level of quality and with the appropriate level of visibility and governance.
As the Technical Support Team Leader you will ensure efficient the application and delivery of the Technical Control process, robust data handling and document control. The main focus of this role is the management and development of a team of 5-9 technical co-ordinators.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify and implement improvements in working practices and methods to promote greater divisional awareness and understanding of the UKAEA process.
• Increase departmental efficiency and compliance with business practices, through the provision of technical advice, guidance, and informal training. Providing input to formal training as appropriate.
• Oversight and facilitation of the tracking of technical documentation within the team.
• Provide support in administering data management of the division in the context of SharePoint.
