Responsibilities

Babcock is seeking a talented and driven Technical Team Lead – Introduction into Service (IIS) to join our Australian Defence Force Ground Support Equipment (ADF GSE) program. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing team within one of Babcock’s most critical Defence contracts, focused on the strategic asset management of ground support equipment on behalf of the ADF.
In this role, you’ll provide both technical leadership and hands-on expertise, guiding your team through complex engineering/technical challenges while ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality technical outputs. You’ll be responsible for planning and overseeing production of IIS articles, producing and reviewing documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and Defence standards throughout the lifecycle of the program, for the effective service release of new acquisitions.
Beyond technical delivery, you’ll play a key role in mentoring and developing your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and Defence partners, contributing to sustainable engineering solutions that support operational capability and national security.
This is more than just a leadership role—it’s a chance to influence outcomes that matter and grow within a company committed to making a difference.
