THE OPPORTUNITY -

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is looking for a Technical Writer who will join the AH-64E Boeing Apache team. The AH-64E Boeing Apache helicopter has been selected for the Australian Army and will be coming into service soon, joining our current BDA supported rotary wing fleet of Chinook medium lift and EC-135 training helicopters. BDA supports these rotary wing programs with Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, System Safety and Management skills. BDA are looking for personnel to support this exciting opportunity.
This role is based at Swartz Barracks, Oakey.

As a Technical Writer you will:

  • Receive and incorporate publication change requests from the Flight crews and work with the technical support team to propose changes to the customer for approval.
  • Receive and incorporate publication amendments and keep associated records.
  • Conduct audits and checks of the publications suite.
  • Draft technical instructions based on provided technical and engineering data.
  • Be the primary point of contact within the program for publications.
  • Working closely with Apache Coordinators and Execution Leads to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks to achieve project revision deliveries.
Responsibilities
  • Experience in the development of technical publications and instructions for a new or fielded major equipment system
  • Experience in managing a publications library.
  • Proficient technical writing skills using MS word and Adobe professional.
  • A high standard of communication skills that facilitate interaction between the project staff and key internal customer groups
