Job Description - 6-12 month contract in Scottsdale AZ - (Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Technical Documentation Specialist to join our team in our Scottsdale, AZ office. As a Technical Writer in an IT environment, you will document the people, processes and technologies that we use on a daily basis to delight customers and partners worldwide. As a member of the small and experienced development team, you will peer into every part of our services, applications, infrastructure and technology.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for documenting the people, processes and technologies we use to deliver all services and products to customers, prospects and partners.
Skills
– Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing
– Ability to interview technical, business and operational personnel to produce written documentation
– Ability to effectively organize vast amounts of disparate information into reasonable, easily understood structures and formats for broad consumption by many audiences
– Ability to write beautiful documentation using tools like Confluence, Google Docs, etc.
– Ability to create diagrams in tools like LucidChart, Vizio, Google Docs, etc.
– Ability to operate source control software like Git, Mercurial, etc.
Experience
– 5+ years working as a technical writer documenting complex systems
– 2+ years documenting people, processes and technologies in software-focused organizations
– 2+ years developing end user documentation
– 2+ years using systems that make documentation accessible to internal and external audiences
– Experience using ChatGPT, Claude AI, Canva, etc. to develop documentation
– Experience with Confluence, Google Docs or LucidChart a plus
– Experience in developing localized documentation a plus
– Bachelor’s degree
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $49.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
