De Havilland Aircraft of Canada is excited to announce the addition of a group of highly experienced aerospace professionals to our organization! Mid Canada Mod Centre (MC2) and Avionics Design Services (ADS) joined De Havilland in October 2023, creating additional capacity and expanding our expertise in both avionics design services and upgrades as well as maintenance and modifications.
Profile
The Technical Writer will prepare, applying standard technical writing methods, draft manual supplements, catalogues and other publications to support engineering and certification team.
This role will report to the Design Manager and will work in close cooperation with the TCCA delegates, the planning, and administrative departments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Apply standard technical writing methods to support Engineering and Certification by generating product support manuals
- Draft new manual supplements or process manuals changes.
- Execute technical writing in editable software.
- Proofreading of draft edits.
- Edit and insert illustrations, as applicable
- Ensure information is correct, clear, and concise.
- Ensure appropriate references and redlines are scanned and filed.
- Initiate report and create folder to contain all reference data.
- Acquire knowledge of and follow the established practices and procedures during the execution of their tasks.
- Remain current with respect to Transport Canada and Foreign airworthiness standards.
Education and Professional Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in related field or related industry experience in Technical Publications.
Skills & Experience
- Intermediate to advanced user knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Use of Corel -WordPerfect would be an asset.

- Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in technical writing and publications.
- Proficiency and experience in writing technical documentation in English.
