Job Description:
The Technical Writer is responsible for developing winning, client-specific proposals for AV project bids by collaborating with cross-functional teams and applying strong technical knowledge, communication skills, and attention to detail. This role plays a critical part in supporting the sales, design, and estimation process within the Audio Visual integration industry.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Holder/ College Graduate
  • Atleast 2 years experience in technical writing, preferably in the AV, construction, or technology industries.
  • Strong knowledge of Audio Visual systems, construction terminology, and proposal documentation standards.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Presentation, Excel, Google Workspace, and relevant AI or design tools.
  • Highly organized with strong time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and RFP requirements.
  • Team player with strong collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of project processes, contract terms, commodity codes, and vendor coordination.

Essential Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of construction, low voltage, and related building systems

  • Familiarity with vendors, commodity codes, and proposal procedures

Tasks:

  • Write and prepare proposals tailored fit with the needed specifications and requirements of each project bid.
  • Coordinate with the designer and cad team in order to properly write an effective technical approach, narrative and simulations of the project.
  • Prepare and update different formats for proposal, pricelist, capability statement, line cards, presentations and quotation.
  • Prepare and update terms and conditions on the different services offered by the company.
  • Review and understand the requirements in the RFP.
  • Develop a plan for the proposal, including timelines and milestones
  • Gather relevant information for the proposal.
  • Closely communicate with estimator and designer to gather input and insights for the proposal.
  • Draft the content of the proposal, ensuring clarity, coherence, and alignment with the requirements.
  • Format the proposal document to make it visually appealing and easy to read meeting high standards of professionalism and EIDIM branding.
  • Identify most suitable past references for the project.
  • Conduct thorough proofreading to identify and correct errors in grammar, spelling, and formatting.
  • Ensure the proposal complies with all the requirements specified in the RFP.
  • Manage version control to ensure that the latest version of the proposal is being submitted.
  • Create Capability Statement templates for different types of RFQs.
  • Create proposal templates.
  • Assist estimators creating CS for new projects.
  • Update and maintain templates and relevant information for future reference.
  • Ensure data in the Content Bank is most current and easy to locate.
  • Implement systems to organize project related databases, including proposal contents, references, resumes for future projects.
  • Regularly organize and update photos within the database to ensure easy and efficient utilization.
  • Collaborate with PMs to ensure timely capture of project photos before the completion of the project.
  • Edit photos and locate them in proper folders.
  • Regularly update social media content.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
