Description Intrepid Control Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving technical documentation that supports our products and solutions. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and support teams to ensure documentation is accurate, clear, and aligned with product functionality. This position is ideal for someone who can translate moderately complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content for a technical audience. Requirements Key Responsibilities Apply knowledge management practices to manage technical content across products with an emphasis on consistency, traceability, and accessibility. Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, manuals, API documentation, and application notes Collaborate with subject matter experts (e.g., software and hardware engineers) to gather and validate technical information Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content Maintain documentation in alignment with product releases and updates Organize and improve existing documentation and content structure Support internal teams (e.g., support, engineering) with documentation needs Follow established documentation standards, templates, and version control practices Manage multiple documentation projects and meet established deadlines Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience 3–6 years of technical writing experience in a technical environment Experience working with technical subject matter experts Strong written communication and editing skills Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, Confluence, Markdown, reStructuredText, or similar) Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git or similar) Preferred Qualifications Experience in the automotive, embedded systems, or electronics industries Experience creating system diagrams or block diagrams to communicate complex concepts Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay) Basic understanding of APIs and software development concepts Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong collaboration and communication skills Problem-solving ability and adaptability
