Location: Washington, DC (Primarily Remote)

KAPS Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Technical Writer to support ARPA-H documentation and communication efforts. In this role, you will lead the development of clear, concise, and high-impact materials that support the coordination and advancement of health innovation programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of technical writing experience, preferably in healthcare, scientific research, or regulated environments
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively
  • Strong editorial skills with experience rewriting and polishing draft content
  • Comfortable working in dynamic, deadline-driven environments with evolving priorities
  • Must have prior SETA experience supporting a Government Research agency (e.g., ARPA-H, DARPA, ONR, R&E, AFRL), with preference given to ARPA programs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience developing templates, flowcharts, or process diagrams to illustrate complex systems or workflows
  • Ability to translate expert technical feedback into plain language
  • Familiarity with government documentation standards, version control practices, and compliance protocols

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Technical Writer, you will drive documentation efforts related to Innovative Solution Offering (ISO) coordination. You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts to create and maintain materials that support program goals, ensure regulatory compliance, and effectively communicate complex health research initiatives to a variety of audiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the drafting, editing, and revision of ISO-related documents, procedural guides, training materials, and internal summaries
  • Collaborate with scientists, program managers, and technical staff to capture content and ensure clarity
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with agency standards for quality, accessibility, and compliance
  • Manage version control and updates across documentation repositories
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, user-friendly language for diverse internal and external stakeholders
