About the role DroneShield is seeking a Technical Writer to join the Marketing team in Sydney, New South Wales. Reporting to the Marketing Team Lead, this role offers a unique opportunity to produce written material in the technology space. The role is primarily focused on drafting and reviewing marketing copy and technical documentation. You will collaborate with designers, developers, product managers, and usability experts to promote the DroneShield brand and showcase its products. Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and comprehensive material for both technical and non-technical audiences Write and develop marketing content from scratch, including social media copy, brochures, product presentations, blogs, and ad hoc requests Write technical content for collateral including investor presentations, training documentation, and ad hoc requests Collaborate with key internal stakeholders (including Engineering, Product, and Sales) to identify documentation needs, gather information, and ensure technical accuracy and alignment Conduct reviews and updates of collateral, based on feedback and changes to products/services Assist with editing and proofreading written technical documentation, such as user manuals and training materials Assist in the development and implementation of documentation standards, processes, and guidelines Demonstrate strong time management skills, balancing ad hoc requests while maintaining high-quality standards Maintain version control to ensure documentation consistency, compliance, and accuracy Qualifications, Experience and Skills 5+ years proven copywriting experience, ideally within a technology, or engineering related field Bachelor’s degree in Writing, English, Communication, or related field, or equivalent practical experience Demonstrated experience writing, editing and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for diverse audiences across multiple formats Strong understanding of technical writing principles and best practices Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Experience working in Agile development methodologies is a plus Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred, particularly InDesign and Acrobat Australian Citizen and able to successfully obtain and maintain a minimum Baseline Security Clearance Make sure you upload your portfolio in cover letter section when you apply.
