Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically fluent Technical Writer to support the AI/ML platform team by producing and maintaining high-quality documentation across the program. The ideal candidate will have a background in cloud-based AI/ML environments and experience working closely with engineers, product managers, and compliance teams to translate complex concepts into user-friendly content.
This role plays a key part in enabling scalable onboarding and reuse by creating clear, comprehensive resources that support end users, mission teams, and internal platform stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience writing technical documentation for software, data platforms, or cloud infrastructure.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Databricks), and MLOps concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity, structure, and accuracy.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Active IRS Security Clearance is highly desired.
  • Experience in federal programs or regulated environments (FedRAMP, NIST).
  • Proficiency with tools like Confluence, Git, Markdown, and Lucidchart or similar visual modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with ATO documentation processes, model lifecycle stages, and AI governance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting documentation needs across engineering, CSx, and compliance teams.
    Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors
Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain documentation for platform onboarding, user guides, API integration, system architecture, pipeline templates, and operational processes.
  • Translate technical concepts from engineering teams into accessible written materials for data scientists, developers, and stakeholders.
  • Support internal documentation needs for governance, security, ATO readiness, and compliance alignment.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Platform Architects, and CSx team members to align documentation with feature releases and roadmap priorities.
  • Standardize documentation formats and repositories across the program to promote version control, reusability, and ease of navigation.
  • Maintain internal style guides and editorial standards for consistent tone and technical accuracy.
