SUMMARY:

Due to consistent growth domestically and internationally, Flexicon is seeking candidates for a Technical Writer for SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) at our world headquarters in Bethlehem, PA, for the management of all related documentation across the organization. The ideal candidate will have the skills and aptitude to eventually drive business process optimization. This role has the potential to evolve into a hybrid role (2-3 days in office) once fully trained in the position requirements.
The successful employee is an energetic, detail-oriented individual who responds positively within a team environment. A person with a positive attitude, multi-tasking abilities, strong organizational skills, including time management, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are desired.
A candidate with prior experience as a Technical Writer is required and experience in a manufacturing-related environment is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience or interest in business process mapping, writing of SOP’s and work instructions
  • Highly organized, efficient, and able to manage large volumes of documentation, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills, as applicable to business processes
  • Ability to coach department managers and members in producing SOPs in conformance with the established standard, and to obtain results to meet productivity targets set by management
  • Ability to motivate others and obtain results from contributors
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to break down a large task/concept into smaller tasks/ideas
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a project team environment
  • Self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Aptitude for, or knowledge of, technical concepts or subjects
  • Overall potential for other business-related roles within the organization for future career development

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Business degree (B.A., B.S.), with 1-year relevant training/experience required
  • Business degree (B.A., B.S.) and/or 3-5 years relevant training/experience preferred
  • Skills in business analytics and/or technical writing for business processes· Alternatively, a seasoned professional with experience writing SOP’s, and managing the process for validation & approval
    Title and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $62,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary driver for development, collection, validation, approval process, organization, and storage of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and related documentation across all departments and global business entities
  • Consult with department managers and members for the overall SOP development process
  • Verify documentation from all departments for conformance to standard SOP format, and reformat or rewrite when needed
  • Manage document validation and authorization process across departments, with accountability for maintaining an up-to-date repository and clear indication of status
  • Identify and correct errors in information received from stakeholders
  • Track the validation process to ensure progress, and identify and report bottlenecks
  • Maintain Gantt chart for overall program timeline and progress, and generate ad hoc reports on project status
