Your Title: Technical Writer (Field Systems User Content) Job Location: Christchurch, New Zealand Our Department: Field Systems - Geospatial & BCFS Do you have a knack for simplifying complex information? Or a passion for sharing knowledge with others? Join the Trimble Field Systems User Content team as a Technical Writer and embrace the challenge of introducing users to the latest developments in positioning technology. What You Will Do Write and develop user content for a range of Trimble positioning hardware, including GNSS receivers, total stations, data collectors, and accessories. Produce webhelp topics and quick start guides, and collaborate with team members to produce video content and support articles. Work with other technical writers to align and execute on shared content, format, and delivery of help topics across related hardware and software products. Actively source information from project documents and work with product managers and other technical experts to verify information and manage documentation reviews. Manage documentation tasks within a larger project timeline to ensure documentation is completed on time and to an exceptional quality. You Must Have Exceptional attention to detail - you spot the errors others miss. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences. Confidence in building effective relationships with stakeholders. A talent for making complex information simple and accessible. A self-directed learning style - you are comfortable figuring things out. The ability to work independently while staying connected with your global team. You Would Be Great If You Have Proven experience delivering high-quality technical documentation. Experience using an authoring tool (MadCap Flare preferred but not essential). A Bachelor’s degree in technical communication, English, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Relevant practical experience in land surveying, building or civil construction, software support, or hardware product design and manufacture. Experience with or interest in using AI tools and how they might help us work smarter. A passion for sharing knowledge and a desire to continually grow expertise in related domains.
