POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technical Writing Specialist supports the full lifecycle of the U.S. Department of Defense contracting activities and produces clear, accurate technical documentation in support of Liberty Alliance’s programs. This role requires a solid working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other relevant laws, regulations, and agency-specific requirements as they apply to assigned contracting tasks. The position is responsible for independently interpreting requirements, ensuring compliance, and delivering high-quality, audit-ready documentation that meets both company and government standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, English, Communications, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related experience in technical writing. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and DoD procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical documentation for government contracts.
  • Skilled in translating complex technical and regulatory information into clear, concise language.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be physically able to operate various machines and equipment, including computers, office equipment, telephones, etc. Physical demands are essentially those of sedentary work. Tasks may require extended periods at a keyboard or workstation. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer contracts, subcontracts, and modifications in accordance with FAR/DFARS and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with program managers, legal, finance, and procurement staff to develop compliant proposals and contract deliverables.
  • Interpret and communicate contract requirements, terms, and conditions to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain complete and accurate contract files to support audits, inspections, and internal reviews.
  • Research, write, edit, and maintain requirements, documents (SOW, PWS, SOO) and related Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), technical manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and assigned proposal sections.
  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather technical data and ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with government formatting and style requirements.
  • Develop acquisition documentation and other contract-related submissions to contracting officers and government representatives.
  • Ensure all documentation and contract activities meet company quality standards and government submission requirements.
  • Completes all other tasks and duties as needed to help drive Liberty Alliance’s Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our organization’s values.
