Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs routine and preventative maintenance on multiple vacuum (Thin Films) tools; ensuring tools are performing at optimum levels and within specification. Perform troubleshooting and repair of down equipment to root cause of failure in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with departmental objectives. Notify supervisor and equipment engineers of parts requirements, repeated problems and equipment deficiencies. Provide solutions/suggestion when repeated problems and equipment deficiencies occur and when potential problems may occur. Perform complex preventive maintenance in accordance with PM specifications and applicable safety procedures. Thoroughly and accurately, document the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance. Give accurate and detailed end of shift pass-down of equipment problems found and repairs performed. Work on assignments that may be complex in nature, where judgment and analysis are required in solving problems. Initiate continuous improvement activities with equipment engineering, vendors, and other cross functional groups to improve productivity, cost savings and yield enhancement. Continuously improve required skill sets through formal training or through resolving issues while on the job (OJT). Follows established policies, processes, guidelines, and methods to accomplish work. Collaborates with others within their own department and across other departments, to achieve solutions that may improve business. May be required to work overtime to assist manufacturing needs. Must be willing to follow all safety policies and procedures. Qualifications REQUIRED: AA Degree Electronics, Computer Engineering. Certificate from vocational or trade school in computer technology or computer hardware maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred, but not required, 2+ years' experience supporting and repairing related equipment. Knowledge of wafer fabrication practices, techniques and equipment. Knowledge of High Vacuum Equipment is preferred. Read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics and related instructions. Apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Adapt techniques and practices to situations appropriately. Makes recommendations for solutions or improvements. Use a wide variety of common bench electronic equipment and specialized equipment (DVM, etc...) Use standard assembly tools and materials. Experience with the one or more of the following equipment, Veeco IBE and IBD systems, PVD systems, RIE systems, Comptech 2480 systems.
