Description POSITION OVERVIEW Technician Aides serve to help Veterinary Technicians and Assistants in carrying out the Technician’s and Assistant’s duties, while providing superior patient care and excellent customer service and client satisfaction. They are also primarily responsible for hospital cleanliness and sanitation. This position is an excellent opportunity for any individual who is seeking to learn and grow into a position working in an animal health or welfare environment. Technician Aides report to the Practice Manager. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the performance of a variety of technical and sanitation duties that facilitate the work of the veterinarian(s), veterinary technician(s) and veterinary assistant(s): Preparation of fecal, blood/cytology, and urine samples Equipment and instrument maintenance Proper and humane animal handling and restraint technique Hospital cleanliness and sanitation including but not limited to laundry, cleaning kennels, taking out trash, sweeping and mopping, etc. Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and checking patients in and out as needed in the absence of the dedicated Client Service Representative OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Technician(s), Practice Manager, or Medical Director Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Must be 18 years of age or older No previous experience working in a clinical/hospital setting is required, as we are willing to provide training to the right individual Proven efficiency and time-management skills, as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while still having a keen attention to detail Reliable and punctual Proven customer service and client communication, including ensuring client satisfaction at all times REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES None PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to demonstrate proper lifting technique up to 40lbs Ability to wear a face mask at all times while inside the facility Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and reach Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to work in an often-noisy environment with barking dogs Dexterity to write and manipulate a keyboard and mouse
