Here are the details: Learning the Basics: As a Technician Apprentice, you’ll start by getting your hands dirty in the express lube area. You’ll learn essential tasks like changing engine oil, rotating tires, and conducting Multi-point Vehicle Inspections. Foundational Training: Simultaneously, you’ll engage in web-based training that covers fundamental concepts. These courses will teach you how to use Service Information for vehicle diagnosis and repair, follow a strategy-based diagnostic system, document repairs on a repair order, understand safety requirements, and grasp basic electrical principles. Specialized Knowledge: After mastering the fundamentals, you’ll dive deeper into specific vehicle subsystems. Expect to gain specialized expertise in areas like braking, steering and suspension, electrical systems, engines, and transmissions. And yes, you’ll continue to earn while you learn! Assisting Senior Technicians: During the second phase, you’ll work alongside senior-level technicians. This hands-on experience will further enhance your skills. Plus, you’ll be well-prepared to take and pass both your Pennsylvania State Inspection and Emissions license exams. Virtual Classroom and Web-Based Training: As part of your ongoing education, you’ll attend virtual classroom sessions and continue with web-based training provided by manufacturers.
