SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

In-Person Classroom Facilitation

  • Serve as the on-site presence in the classroom when faculty are delivering synchronous instruction remotely.
  • Ensure students are engaged, attending, and able to access all required learning materials during scheduled class time.

Technology Monitoring and Basic Troubleshooting

  • Set up and monitor classroom technology (e.g., Teams connection, microphones, and projectors) to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting during class to resolve issues quickly or escalate them to IT as needed.

Test and Assessment Invigilation

  • Supervise students during in-class quizzes, tests, and exams to uphold academic integrity.
  • Coordinate with faculty to understand invigilation requirements and ensure all conditions are met.

Communication and Liaison

  • Act as the communication bridge between the remote faculty and the on-campus students, addressing immediate student questions or concerns as appropriate.
  • Facilitate communication via D2L or email regarding attendance, behaviour, or logistical matters, but not academic instruction.

Classroom Logistics and Support

  • Distribute or collect any physical learning materials or handouts provided by the faculty.
  • Maintain a presence that supports classroom management, reinforcing a professional and respectful learning environment.
  • Answer general procedural questions (e.g., due dates, location of materials on D2L).
  • Redirect academic or content-related questions to the appropriate faculty member.
  • Track and report attendance, incidents, or technical issues to the faculty and Dean as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a 2-year post-secondary diploma
