Job Description Position Purpose: Responsible for observing the opacity of emissions generated from the coking making process and recording the observations in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: The data collected is entered into a database. This portion of the role requires working in a heavy industrial environment with strict safety requirements. Working with on-site Client managers to address the water requirements associated with respective facilities and manage all aspects of the respective facilities water permits. Following the sampling programs relative to NPDES permits and established in-house water sampling programs is essential to the service provided. Work Environment: The role requires working outdoors and requires walking, climbing steps, acclimation to heat and cold. The role requires individuals to be available to work 5-days per week that may include Saturday and Sunday. Shifts may be longer than 8-hours per day therefore individuals will be required to work overtime if delays in the operations occur. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: High School Diploma/GED is required. Some experience in a related position or industrial environment preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions). Must demonstrate ability to work and communicate in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily. Must be able to communicate observations to operations, supervisors and client contacts. Computer skills including Microsoft and Google programs. Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Required Certification/Licenses/Training: Must obtain (or have) a Method 9 certification within a designated time frame. Must obtain (or have) a Method 303 certification within a designated time frame. Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check. Physical Requirements: Must be able to obtain the necessary medical clearances to wear a respirator.
