First Solar reserves the right to offer you a role most applicable to your experience and skillset. Basic Job Functions: Assist in the installation and qualification of manufacturing equipment. Troubleshoot day-to-day manufacturing process and equipment issues. Perform, as directed, all necessary maintenance and repair of the equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Identify and/or implement system improvements that contribute to the achievement of throughput, yield, and product performance goals. Lead the training/upskilling of production associates and technicians. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must meet ONE of the following criteria to qualify: No post-high school degree: Four or more years mechanical, electrical or process technician experience as a primary job function, or two or more years’ experience as FS EMT I Journeyman or other trade certification strongly preferred in lieu of post-HS degree. Associates (2-year) degree in a technical discipline: Two or more years mechanical, electrical or process technician experience or one year experience as FS EMT I Bachelors (4-year) degree in an engineering/technical discipline: One year mechanical, electrical or process technician experience or six months experience as FS EMT I Required Skills/Competencies: Safety first mindset Extensive verifiable electrical/electronic and mechanical knowledge Extensive Verifiable hands-on troubleshooting/repair skills Competency in maintaining and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment strongly preferred. Self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision. Good written and oral communications skills in English Able to troubleshoot and solve equipment issues on the manufacturing line. Able to troubleshoot and solve process issues on the manufacturing line. Able to deal with administrative as well as technical tasks. Working knowledge of common Windows computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) Able to identify recurring issues and develop/communicate improvement recommendations. Essential Responsibilities: Solve day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems. Performs the on-site service and repair of equipment. Identify and implement yield and product performance improvements. Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed. Develop methods to assign causes to yield excursions. Set up and maintain gauges. Ensure all processes are running on target as defined by the Process Control Plan Respond to SPC process control alarms, bringing processes back into control. Execute planned process experiments, collect and analyze data and report experimental results. Collect data relating to daily tool performance and associated product performance. Transition of new equipment and processes through start-up, qualification, and implementation. Provide training to production associates. Develop and update internal documentation including drawings, standard operating procedures, and process specifications. Interface with internal associates and supplier representatives, as required, to complete assigned projects. Develop a complete understanding of area processes, equipment, and support systems. Maintain effective communication with other members of the manufacturing team. Disposition non-conforming product according to established criteria (NCP) Adhere to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards. Will complete First Solar EMT 2 training programs. Ensure waste materials are discarded in their designated containers. Ensure hazardous waste containers stay closed except when adding or removing waste. Ensure satellite accumulation containers stay in their designated locations. Reporting Relationships: This position will not have direct reports. Travel: Travel for initial onboarding training in other FS manufacturing facilities may be required. Little to no travel required (
