Job DetailsJob Location: Evans Toyota Inc - FORT WAYNE, IN 46808 LUBE TECH LEADER/TRAINER A lube tech leader or trainer oversees quick lube bays, mentoring entry-level staff, maintaining shop efficiency, and ensuring safety. This pivotal role bridges the gap between entry-level operations and advanced automotive service, ensuring every vehicle meets the highest standards of care. Core Responsibilities Mentorship and Training: Teaching quick lube techs how to perform fast, accurate oil changes and comprehensive safety inspections. Leaders guide new hires through Evans Toyota processes, including fluid level checks, tire pressure adjustments, and the proper installation of oil drain plugs and filters. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Enforcing strict procedures like checking drain plugs, verifying wheel torque, and preventing costly mistakes. The leader ensures all Repair Orders (RO) are completed accurately and returned to the Assistant Service Manager. Shop Organization and Efficiency: Maintaining a safe, clean, and highly organized workspace. This includes supervising the use of power tools, ensuring all supplies are properly stored, and optimizing the flow of vehicles through the service bays to maximize productivity. Customer Experience Leadership: Modeling superior customer service by ensuring needs are understood and identifying solutions to customer concerns. Leaders help the team maintain a professional greeting and ensure customer vehicles are returned in clean condition. Qualifications Qualifications and Skills Advanced mechanical knowledge and proficiency with automotive diagnostics. Strong leadership and time management skills to manage both personal tasks and the team's workload. High level of personal and professional integrity with a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Effective communication skills for coaching team members and providing status updates to customers.
