Established in 1874, we have grown to become the world leader in mining and civil blasting with a diverse of team of more than 13,000 across the world.  It’s an exciting time to join us – we are shaping the future of mining through digital and automated technologies, embracing new ways of thinking, pioneering innovation and reimagining the way we work.About the role We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have a new opportunity for a Field Support Technician to join Orica Asset Team in Townsville.  Reporting to the Orica Asset Supervisor, the Field Support Technician will provide maintenance and technical support to Mobile and Fixed Plant Process Equipment for the North Queensland Region.The role will operate on 5 days on, 2 days off.  A work vehicle and all tools are supplied.  At Orica we encourage genuine career development amongst our people and can guarantee training and resources for our Field Support Technician if they wish to expand their careers into supervisory and or management positions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled candidate. What you will be doing   Routine servicing and repairs to site-based mobile and fixed plant process equipment; Transitioning between allocated Orica sites for preventive maintenance, and breakdown support; Providing maintenance advice to site-based team leaders and managers;  Monitoring and reporting equipment failures and identifying opportunities for improvement; Auditing and making recommendations of site-based critical spares; and Use Orica IT systems relating to asset management, 4S-SWM, EPDM, IBM Lotus Notes, and outlook.  What you will bring     Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification is essential;  Auto Electrical or Hydraulic experience is desirable;  Experience with PLC/Can bus computer systems is desirable;  Experience with Explosive Mobile Manufacturing Systems is desirable;  Post-trade experience in a similar role within heavy industry or the mining sector would be highly regarded;  Heavy Rigid driving license is advantageous but not essential; and Previous exposure to work permits would be highly regarded.   What we offer As part of a truly global company, you will have the ability to grow and learn in a diverse, collaborative culture.
