General Position Description: The Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing mountain bikes, skis, and snowboards to ensure a safe and premium experience for our guests. This role combines mechanical skill, attention to detail, and customer service, supporting both our bike and winter sports operations.Technicians report directly to the Store Manager and Store Lead. Job Responsibilities: Bike Technician Responsibilities: Perform maintenance, repairs, and tune-ups on mountain bikes, including drivetrains, brakes, wheels, and suspension systems. Stays up to date with all certifications. Ordering service parts and supplies. Build and assemble bikes to manufacturer specifications. Inspect bikes for safety, wear, and proper performance; recommend repairs or replacements. Maintain accurate service records and track parts inventory. Assist with demo bikes and rental preparation, ensuring all bikes meet Goodwynn’s high standards. Ski & Snowboard Technician Responsibilities: Tune, wax, and repair skis and snowboards, including edges, bases, bindings, and mounts. Inspect winter sports equipment for safety and performance; recommend repairs or adjustments. Build and adjust bindings to manufacturer specifications. Prepare demo and rental equipment for guest use. Maintain accurate service logs and inventory for ski and snowboard equipment. Associate & Customer Service Responsibilities: Greet and assist guests in the service and demo areas, providing guidance on equipment selection, use, and care. Answer questions about products, rentals, demos, and service procedures. Support rentals, demos, and events by ensuring equipment availability and readiness. Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized, safe, and visually appealing work and retail environment. Uphold Goodwynn’s brand standards and create a welcoming, professional experience for every guest. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share feedback on equipment, processes, and guest experience. Proficiency with tools, repair techniques, and equipment for mountain bikes and winter sports gear. Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a focus on guest experience. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to safety, quality, and delivering premium experiences. Certifications such as Park Tool School, Level 1 or 2 Ski Tech, or equivalent. Experience in a retail, rental, or demo service environment. Knowledge of high-end bike, ski, and snowboard brands and trends.
