Technician - Hygiene Permanent opportunity which includes attractive salary, annual incentives and a huge range of additional benefits designed to make your life better Join an HSE team supporting the Yarwun operations Gladstone-based and enjoy all the perks of living in a coastal location About the role We are looking for a passionate and talented Hygiene Technician to join our HSE team at Rio Tinto Yarwun Refinery based in Gladstone, working Monday to Friday or you have the option to do a 9-day fortnight. Working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will be assisting the Site Occupational Hygiene team performing their day-to-day activities: Conducting Occupational Hygiene Surveys to identify and confirm exposure risks and prepare associated reports Routine and targeted monitoring Educating, communicating and engaging with Rio Tinto HSE groups, site leaders and operational personnel Ensuring occupational hygiene documentation is current and accurate Supporting the administration of programs such as ChemAlert or Cority Managing site equipment and monitors What you will bring To be successful in this role you will have: Genuine interest in understanding and improving workers’ health Scientific education background An understanding of legislative requirements relating to health surveillance and occupational hygiene Sound understanding of MS Office Completed the Basic Principle of Occupational Hygiene - desirable Membership of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) - desirable What we offer Be recognised for your contribution, you’re thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you’ve helped the world progress. Processing bauxite from our mines in Weipa and Gove, Yarwun produces more than three million tonnes of smelter grade alumina annually. With a focus on safely improving our process every day, the team at Yarwun challenge themselves to use existing and emerging technology to support our 24-hour operation.
