SUMMARY The Technician I will be trained to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on ground support equipment and stationary equipment such as loading bridges, stationary air conditioning units, baggage conveyor systems, ground power units, and other equipment in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. This position will also be trained in duties associated with ground support equipment parts, and will assist in various maintenance duties associated with building and equipment maintenance. Requirements JOB DUTIES The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust, or jet engine noise: Trained to inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and overhaul ground support equipment and components such as chassis, body, and drive-train components. Ability to learn electrical and hydraulic schematics. Perform preventative and routine maintenance such as oil changes, replacing/adding coolant and fluids, brake and tire changes, etc. on-ground equipment. Perform minor repair of ground support equipment such as carburetors, starter motors, alternators, batteries, radiators, hydraulic drive components, and diesel engines under supervison. Assist with transporting parts, distributing parts to technicians, inputting parts into system and properly storing parts, and assisting with parts inventory counts. Assist with offloading equipment and freight. Escort contractors and vehicles in/out of SCLA airport as needed. Perform yard starts & equipment availability reporting Assist with shop maintenance, including light building maintenance and maintaining shop tools, washing equipment, etc. Able to safely and legally able to operate a motor vehicle. Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in an effective, safe working condition.Report any safety violation, machining equipment misusage, and/or properly performed work to supervisor or lead. Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by federal, local, and state governments, Mercury GSE, and HSE Procedures. Keep work area clean and free of any safety hazards. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Mercury GSE reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
