Job Description: Microchip Colorado Springs has an opportunity to train and assist senior technicians in the operation and maintenance of the (HVAC) Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems by performing the following: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assists senior technicians in troubleshooting problems and performing repairs and preventive maintenance on, hot water and steam boilers, centrifugal chillers, roof top air conditioning units, recirculating and make up air systems. Performs minor/major preventative maintenance tasks and repairs under the guidance and direction of senior technicians. Performs building rounds and readings and documentation Troubleshoot systems to component levels Troubleshoot and calibrate DDC and pneumatic control systems Shift: B (Front Nights) every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Saturday 7pm-7:12am Requirements/Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Knowledge of safety policies and procedures. Knowledge of mechanics and aptitude for performing repairs. EPA certification for handling refrigerants. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of related work experience (education as a substitution may be considered) Associate’s degree with preferred HVAC specific certificate program from an accredited trade school LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as schematic diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical specifications, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, pass downs, and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with supervisors and employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations. Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance. Effective verbal communication and listening skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Color vision. Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that includes safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, fall protection, ladder safety, cartridge or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and protective clothing and the ability to adhere to all regulations that may be associated with safety standards.
